Help has arrived from the south to help fight forest fires in Northern Ontario. Thus far there, the forest fire season in Ontario is above the 10-year average. 100 Mexican firefighters landed in Thunder Bay this week to support FireRangers in both the northwest and northeast regions.

An evacuation order that went into place in the Highway 810 area west of Sudbury and North of Massey has been lift. This was originally due to wildfire. The highway is still closed between Ritchie Falls and Highway 553, north of Massey, and travel and use restrictions remain in place.
