Ontario’s public high school teachers have voted to settle unresolved contract bargaining through arbitration. The move will avoid strike action. This is after the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation reached a tentative deal with the government last month to continue negotiating until Oct. 27.
Greater Sudbury City Councilors will opt for more studies on the future of the Sudbury Arena. City staff will examine options, delaying any ground-breaking by at least six months. A report will be presented to council next March.
A daytime warming center in North Bay will be in place by November. That’s according to DNSSAB at this weeks Board of Directors meeting. The plan is for the warming center to be open from Nov. 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, with options available for April.
