Sudbury’s first private nurse practitioner clinic is now open. Nurse practitioners have long been a solution to the shortage of primary care providers in the Province.

West Nipissing council says they plan to establish a dedicated fund solely for the proceeds of municipal land sales. It would be through creating additions to the policy which governs sales of municipally owned properties.

The final Living Space relocation report has been released. A steering committee is now set to create a proposed action plan — including a funding plan will be reviewed March 21st before an action plan is sent to city council in April

Entrepreneurs and business owners in SSM are invited to city funding forum April 4th. The hope is to grow the business community within the Soo.

Elliot Lake’s Centennial Arena is one of four finalists for arena upgrades worth $250k in the Kraft Hockeyville competition.

The downtown GOVA transit terminal in Greater Sudbury was shut down for a time this morning due to a gas leak.  There were ,thankfully, no injuries… but it did result in a full evacuation of the area, with buses picking up riders from along Cedar Street.

Some of us have accidently wound up with a parking ticket at least once… but a reported $11 million in outstanding provincial offences tickets owed in North Bay and Area. It’s not clear how much will be recovered… as there nearly 400 (390) cases that are over 120 days old.

To the world of sports, the Sault College women’s hockey team skated to a 7-0 win over Mercyhurst south of the boarder in their defense of a national championship from a year ago.

Meanwhile, Several members of the Manitoulin Secondary School Mustangs gymnastics team have qualified for the Northern Ontario championships after the team posted excellent results at a recent competition.
