A total solar eclipse crosses North America today. Here in Ontario, the eclipse will begin just after 2pm, reach a maximum coverage at about 3:20 PM, then end at around 4:40pm. Public Health Sudbury and Districts is reminding everyone to avoid looking directly at the sun without appropriate protection.

The City of Greater Sudbury has exceeded its provincially set housing target for 2023… meaning the province has pledged $1.52 million toward municipal infrastructure

There were no injuries following a Regina St. fire between Worthington St. and First Avenue in the east end of North Bay this morning, which took down a two-story building. The fire was called in just before 8 a.m.  There is no word as to the cause.

Meanwhile, Sault Fire Services were on scene this morning extinguishing a garage fire at the rear of a residential property in the 100 block of Dennis Street. The structure had been completely destroyed by fire. It is not yet known what caused the blaze or if there were any injuries.

Timmins Police say a missing teen, Chloe Love, has been located safe and sound.

The city of Sault Ste Marie will get $600K from the province for exceeding housing target. This follows last year when the city broke ground on 213 new housing units.
