East Ferris council heard a report this week that curling club repairs on-ice, and in the clubhouse could cost just over $840k ($842,000). If the work goes ahead, the municipality would contribute about $288,000 while $55,000 could come from the curling club while $500,000 would come from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.

The connecting link work in Timmins will temporarily close the front of city hall today. The building and city services can still be accessed in person by using the accessible entrance on Cedar Street North.
