A repurposed site in the 0-100 block of Energy Court in Greater Sudbury could soon become a warming centre. That will be the recommendation of City at a meeting of city council next week.

Cochrane OPP is looking for a missing trailer. It apparently rolled out of a rural property on Highway 579 in Cochrane with a tailgate held on with bungee cords. The Multilander ATV dump trailer is valued at $3,000.

Sault Ste Marie is considering a roundabout at Second Line and Goulais Avenue. If city council approves, a building housing two businesses would be taken down to make way for either a right-turn lane or a roundabout.

As of 4 p.m. yesterday, water service was restored to the Town of Little Current following an interruption. That said the water being provided cannot be considered potable and is not considered safe to drink. As a result, the users of the system will be under a Drinking Water Advisory for the next several days.

More redevelopment is going ahead in Greater Sudbury. This week the Old Rock Coffee and The Doghouse in the downtown core were taken down. The properties were acquired by the city to advance redevelopment.

Drivers are being advised that longer delays are possible once again today on McKeown Avenue as part of a four-laning project. The city says a section of the roadway, between Gormanville Road and McNamara Street is reduced.

Arguably, the biggest tourist attraction in the Cochrane District is reopening on Monday. The lookout at the Hollinger Mine open pit in Timmins has been closed for the past two months, due to some rock shifting on one wall.

The city of Sault Ste Marie is looking for input on the city’s draft strategic plan. They’re reminding residents that the public feedback period for its draft corporate strategic plan closes Sept. 10th.

A missing Teen has been located safe and sound. Temiskaming Shores Police were looking for fourteen-year-old Ira was last seen on Sept. 3. He has been located safe and sound.

The city of Timmins is looking for people to unleash their creativity in a mural project. Coming up in just over two weeks… Friday Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there’s a community-led art project in the laneway next to the business at 33 Spruce St. S.

Sudbury’s Cambrian College is launching a new program on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. This will be the first time students will dedicate two full semesters to understanding how it works, and how to use it.

Meanwhile, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University is partnering with the West Nipissing General Hospital to create a new training site for med students enrolled at the university.

The Rotary Club of Timmins-Porcupine is hoping to see exactly how many stuffed animals they can fit into an ambulance this weekend. It’s happening at the Timmins Fall Fair on Sept. 7-8, where members are collecting stuffed animals for front-line workers and other caregivers to help those in stressful situations.
