Greater Sudbury is looking to buy the building at 307 cedar street. Council is expected to vote during a closed session on whether to purchase the property for use as an emergency shelter and/or transitional housing.

Enbridge Gas in Greater Sudbury were going door to door yesterday to complete relights to reconnect customers to gas service in the Goodview Road area. This was after a pipeline was damaged on Tuesday, leaving approximately 1,000 customers in the area without access to natural gas.

The Near North District School Board have conducted an anonymous survey to gauge how students are feeling about their school experience thus far… with an emphasis on feelings of security and safety. The provincial government mandates this to occur at least every two years. Just under 4,000 grade 4 to 12 students have participated so far, along staff and parents.

Tensions are mounting as a potential pilot strike or lockout at Canada’s largest airline, that’s Air Canada is only days away with no signs of a breakthrough in talks. Unless an agreement is reached, either side in the dispute could issue a 72-hour notice of a strike or lock out as early as Sunday, which could lead to a full work stoppage as early as Sept. 18.

Temiskaming SHORES OPP are looking for a missing man. 24-year-old man by the first name of Khuskaran has been missing since Monday, September 2. He was last seen on Paget Street in New Liskeard at 8 p.m. that day.
