
Conservation Sudbury has raised the risk of flooding in parts of Greater Sudbury following some days of rain. The agency’s flood outlook statement applies to the upper Junction Creek watershed between Garson and Kelly Lake until Monday.

With the end of winter now sooner or later, a number of benches along Bay Street and Albert Street in Sault Ste Marie, put in place by the city have been damaged and will need to be repaired or replaced. The benches were installed as part of the 2019 Bay Street reconstruction contract. The work will be done by the city.
Residents in Sudbury and North Bay are being warned of the rise of a scam. The Grandparent Scam… has seen several residents defrauded and charges laid. Residents are asked to familiarize themselves, and to keep all private financial information private.
Rehabilitation work is coming to Trout Lake Rd in North Bay. $3 million through the Connecting Links Program to rehabilitate the road from the highway to Kingsway Avenue, which would include reconstructing the Laurentian Ave. intersection. It will go out to tender this Spring.

Elliot Lake is also on the hook with total snowfall amounts of 10 to 30 cm possible. It’s all expected to intensify Wednesday afternoon, tapering off Thursday.
Prince Township will increase several of its user fees to meet the rising cost of providing services. At the recent March regular meeting, council passed a bylaw 2025-13, which updates user fees in several categories, such as planning applications, facility rentals, and docking boats at the Gros Cap Marina.
The provincial election ballots in Mushkegowuk-James Bay are being recounted today. This is all because there was only an eight-vote count difference between the top two candidates in the Northern Ontario riding, a judge granted a recount, with March 17 being the day for it.
With a site named for the downtown event centre, the City of Sudbury is inviting the community for input. The project’s architects will be in town the week of March 17 to meet with groups, including Indigenous community partners, business leaders, representatives from city.
