The OK Market in Sudbury is back for a second season. The first event is set for June 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Kathleen St. in the Flour Mill and is said to be a celebration of “creativity, community and local talent”.

The North Bay Police Service is opening a downtown office in the days to come. Police say it’ll be a resource for patrol officers to complete reports, take a short break or get some paperwork done without having to return to police headquarters.

Sault Ste. Marie Police is looking for a missing teen. Emma Desjardins is 15 and was last seen in the 400 block of Wellington Street West in the late afternoon of June 2 or 3. She is described as five-foot-three with a slim build and long blond hair. She was wearing a black hoodie, black shorts and white shoes.

Vegetable likenesses of several celebrities went on display Saturday at the Lambeth Country Show, an urban take on a country fair held annually in London’s Brockwell Park. The two-day show featured sheep-shearing, livestock competitions, and a vegetable sculpture contest that has the attracting growing in popularity.

The City of Greater Sudbury hopes to create more housing options throughout the municipality, in areas that are close to transit and essential services. During Monday’s meeting of the planning committee, councillors approved a motion that will enable row homes to be built in commercial zones.

Three Nipissing area hospitals are receiving over a million dollars to support their emergency departments. The Province says $814,000 is headed to the North Bay Regional Health Centre and $100,000 for the Mattawa Hospital. West Nipissing General Hospital is receiving $150,000.

Glencore Sudbury took second place at the recent mine rescue competitions. Teams from Glencore Sudbury INO, Fraser and Nickel Rim South Mines picks up three team awards while the overall championship title and golden helmets went to Timmins’ Kidd Mine team.

Nick Brazeau is East Ferris’ newest municipal councillor. He was appointed to the position of municipal councillor during East Ferris’ regular council meeting this week. The seat became vacant when former councillor Rick Champagne was appointed mayor.
The mayoral seat became vacant after Pauline Rochefort was elected MP for Nipissing–Timiskaming in the 2025 federal election.

A recent traffic blitz in Timmins leads to 22 charges. Among the charges, there were two charges for obstructing a plate, five for speeding, and two for failing to stop for an amber light.
