Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to a fire in a residential building on Whittaker Street yesterday, noting there were no injuries. The call came in at at around 8am. The fire was confined to a two-storey brick building that neighbors said was empty.

The Heritage Railway and Carousel Company in North Bay remains cautiously optimistic that North Bay’s large waterfront carousel will resume operations by the August long weekend. The historic ride, has been closed since an inspection last September.
