Sudbury City is seeking developers to build up to 327 affordable housing units. The city has issued a request for expression of interest seeking partners to develop affordable housing off Bancroft Drive in Minnow Lake and White Road in Lively.

The City of North Bay is advising the public that a section of the Kate Pace Way, along Memorial Drive from the railway crossing near Rona to just west of Regina Street, will be closed. The closure starts today and will last roughly a week for resurfacing.

Years after the City of Timmins asked the services board to consider moving the emergency shelter, it could finally be time. Looking for a bigger emergency shelter site outside of any residential area is one of the recommendations at the Sept. 18 Cochrane District Services Board meeting. The recommendation is to look at land opportunities in Timmins.

Attention shoppers… anyone else who plans to visit the Walmart plaza in Sault Ste. Marie is being told the Second Line Road entrance to the shopping centre will be closed this coming week. Monday and Tuesday to allow for construction.

In Elliot Lake, Water shut-off notices were issued for a portion of Hergott Avenue yesterday. Homes located between numbers 11 and 35 on Hergott Ave. were without water for a time as city crews worked quickly to remedy the situation.

Laurentian University is engaging in consultations to re-imagine its varsity brand, the Voyageurs. The re-branding follows Laurentian retiring its Victor the Voyageur mascot in 2020. Opinions are being taken online until September 21

Over a dozen teens have bounced their way into a nine-week basketball camp, in Sudbury, all with city Police and pro ballers. All to create stronger community connections, and a love the for the sport, the first session was Tuesday.

Over half a million dollars in provincial funding is on its way to West Nipissing. The municipality will use the money, which comes from the Connecting Links program, to rehabilitate Highway 64 from Dufferin Street to Sabourin Road.

The Township of Fauquier-Strickland council has approved its 2025 tax rates. Expected to go out early next week, the hike will be 20%. This marks the second year in a row that residents have been hit with a steep hike. In 2024, taxes went up 26 per cent.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service announced a renewed partnership with the Algoma District School Board and the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board. This partnership will see the return of a full-time, uniformed Elementary School Liaison Officer to local elementary schools.

Conversation around Safety continues to be a topic of conversation for a Manitoulin Island intersection. It’s the Meredith Street-Gore Bay highway intersection in Little Current. In recent years, there has been an increase in crashes and near misses.
