Cambrian College is suspending new intake to another six programs mostly due to intake. The federal government policy changes that have caused a drop in international student enrolment. The latest program suspensions were approved by Cambrian’s board at their Nov. 5 meeting.

North Bay has joined Callander in recognizing the service and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans with a pair of crosswalks. Three have been painted at the intersection of Chippewa and Ferguson streets, and outside Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens.

Changes are on the way for two Schumacher streets that are challenging for city staff to maintain. Sections of Croatia Avenue turning into one-way streets. In addition, the eastbound stop sign on Coatia Avenue at Grant street is being removed, and a stop sign will be added at Battochio for westbound vehicles.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service confirmed that Denial Larabie has been found safe and is no longer missing. While details have not been given, Denial was last seen on Sept. 11. Once again, he is safe and sound.

The North Shore Health Network says the ER site on St. Joseph Island, east of Sault Ste. Marie is closed once again, due to disruptions following a lack of staff. It will open at 8am tomorrow.

The Soo Greyhounds are alerting the public to an ongoing email scam. In short fraudsters are impersonating members of the team’s business operations department to deceive local small businesses. They have false offers of merchandise tables and advertising opportunities at upcoming Greyhounds home games. It’s all a scam, and you can just hit delete.

The district of Temiskaming Social Services Administration Board has a plan to combat homelessness in the city. While the details are still coming in, it is expected to come with a price tag of $1.5 million dollars.
