Paramedics in Sault Ste. Marie wait for new contract

The City of Sault Ste. Marie continues to negotiate an agreement, with Paramedic Services in the city. The contract with 54 paramedics, who work in the EMS division of Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services, expired last March. On Oct. 25, the membership voted 93 per cent in favour of supporting strike action. The union filed for conciliation, and both sides meet with a conciliation officer in January.
