Ramsey Lake Road will see rock scaling work today

A note is being handed out to driver’s morning in Greater Sudbury. The city says that it could be slower than normal commute on Ramsey Lake Road. Rock scaling and ditch work will close the eastbound lane on between Paris Crescent and University Road. The until 6 p.m.
 

Sudbury Pool shut down indefinitely

A water main break has shut down a swimming pool. Nickel District Pool. The word went out yesterday from the city of Greater Sudbury regarding the nearby water main break. It will be closed repairs are complete.
 

36-year-old speeder facing a number of charges

A 36-year-old speeder has been charged, following a traffic stop. It happened along highway 17. Officers spotted the man Nipissing First Nation man driving at high rate of speed and when they got the vehicle stopped, it was discovered he was suspended driver with multiple drugs and weapons in the vehicle.
 

Snowmobilers must follow the rule – Timmins Police

Timmins Police Service has put out a reminder following several calls regarding snowmobiles. Most complaints have to do with snowmobilers failing to comply with intersection-related traffic lights within the city of Timmins. Police say a number of machines have been spotted crossing at the intersection against the corresponding red light.
 

Algoma steel gets $150 million infuse

A significant financial infuse is coming to Algoma Steel, thanks to Grants and loans from the Provincial and Federal Government. It was announced yesterday that the Northern Hub will receive a total of $150 mil in loans and grants from the federal and provincial government to aid in its $600 million plan to modernize the steel mill. The company says the investment will create and maintain more than 3,000 jobs in Sault Ste. Marie.
 

Woman finds an unknown male standing in her living room

North Bay Police have laid charges in a break and enter. It happened at a residence in the south end of the city. Constable John Schultz told us that it all began when the female victim walked into her living room, to find that someone was there…

But according to the Schultz, it didn’t end there…

Later in the day police attended an unrelated call at a Lakeshore Drive location and the accused, who matched the description, was located there. He was questioned and subsequently arrested.
He was released on a promise to appear in court next month.
