City council looks to keep tax levy increase under 3%

Sudbury city council says the staff is recommending an increase of 3.2 percent when it comes to the 2022 budget, despite a request from council to stick to a maximum of three percent. In a presentation to the finance committee on Tuesday, city CAO Ed Archer outlined the 2022 draft municipal budget, which currently includes an operating budget of $655 million and a capital budget of $198 million.
