The Annual festive RIDE campaign in Greater Sudbury is off and rolling for another season. It’ll be on the road until Jan. 1st.

The City of North Bay has installed new pedestrian crossovers as part of the Making Over Main Street project with an aim to enhance pedestrian safety and Police are reminding drivers a full stop is mandatory when they’re in use.

Meanwhile, Iroquois Falls OPP continues their search for a missing teen Rebecca (Becky) Fudge-Schnarr, who was last seen on Moffat Road in the township. She has been missing since November of 2022.

Registration is open for the annual Sault College career fair slated to be held in the new year.

Elliot Lake City Council has given the green light to the Hillside Dr. N. project at a cost of $9.4 million dollars.

Municipal infrastructure conversations continue in Greater Sudbury. As the city’s pools are once again being listed in the underfunded category. Their report has been tabled for the Dec. 5 city council meeting.

The North Bay Snowmobile Club says many of the local clubs are prepping trails for the coming season.

Meanwhile, 14 Nipissing area organizations to split $620,00 in government grants. Among them, the Children’s Aid Society for the District of Nipissing and Parry Sound is getting just north of $99,900 to invest in personnel (staff/volunteers) growth, engagement, and retention.

The Living Space emergency shelter in Timmins shared their October 2023 data noting those wanting access to the shelter increased to 122 compared to 104 in September.

Sault Ste Marie OPP is asking the public to come and help stuff a police cruiser this weekend at the Soup Kitchen Community Centre

Greater Sudbury City council has given the go-ahead to the $65M library/art gallery project. It will open by the end of 2026.

Meanwhile, the City of North Bay is has given its support to an application to the provincial Ministry of Transportation’s Connecting Links Program. It is a request for funding to support the rehabilitation and resurfacing of approximately 1.3 kilometers of Trout Lake Road from Highway 11/17 to Giroux Street.

Speaking of Traffic, A new all-way stop is on its way for a busy intersection in Melrose in Timmins. The intersection of College Street and Westmount is getting a new stop sign, which will turn it into a four-way stop.

The 33rd Annual Elliot Lake Fire Services Christmas Food Drive is a go for Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sault Ste Marie Matthew Shoemaker is hosting pre-budget town hall Thursday night. Those interested in providing feedback on the 2024 budget with council and staff can do so between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Bay Street Active Living Centre.
