The United Way Centraide North East Ontario in Sudbury is looking for young adults to take part in a free leadership program. Called Young Leaders on Board, it’s designed to provide experience and expertise in serving on local community boards and agencies.

Many are deeming Saturday’s to-do at the North Bay waterfront a success. It included a drone show, one of many events marking North Bay’s 100th anniversary.

Timmins Police Service is thanking the public after a missing teen has been located. 17-year-old Kaiden was missing, and has been found in good health.

Sault Ste. Marie city council has voted in favour of reconfiguring Lyons Avenue and Wellington Street West from Korah Road to Carmen’s Way. Once complete, the project would include new bike lanes and a right-turn lane onto Korah.

A petition campaign has begun against a plan to put up between 18 and 21 wind turbines on rural land in Iroquois Falls. Town council has been asked for support for the plan by the privately-owned , which would generate electricity with the turbines and money for the town.

The Ski Hill in Lively is getting the thumbs up according to a city staff report concludes. The report heading to city council says more people used the facility last season, thanks in large part to the efforts of volunteers.

The numbers are in and revenues reportedly helped Greater Sudbury post a $9.5 million budget surplus last year. The biggest single area was investment earnings were $13.8 million higher than expected which included $3.3 million in savings by not filling staff vacancies.

Thankfully no one was injured in a Timmins fire that destroyed one home and damaged a second one early yesterday at a Trailer Park, in the rural west end of Timmins. Flames started in a shed and spread to the other structures.

The Sault Ste. Marie Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) is accepting applications for the 2025 MYAC Leadership Scholarship. Two scholarships, will be awarded to students.

Gore Bay arena needs $172K in repairs and upgrades. The small Manitoulin Island town received an engineering report saying its arena needs $172,000 in repairs and upgrades before next season begins.
