Landmark coming apart in Sault Ste. Marie

Sault Ste. Marie’s oldest physical link to its fur trading heritage is in need of repair. The Historic Canoe Lock is reportedly in a dilapidated state, with its stone walls on the verge of collapse. A reported was handed to the city’s municipal heritage committee warned yesterday. Repairs are now being looked into, but could cost $200,000.
