FREEZING RAINING WARNING in effect for Sudbury, North Bay, Elliot Lake

Freezing rain is expected or occurring. That’s the word from Environment Canada for at least three parts of Northern Ontario this evening – Sudbury, North Bay and Elliot Lake.  Just about everyone is expecting a wintery mix in some form or another. Rain is expected in Sault Ste Marie. In a number of places (where warnings are in place) light snow or ice pellets will transition over to freezing rain this evening. The freezing rain risk is expected to end overnight before changing over to light rain or drizzle. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy
