John 1:12 – Children of God

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” John 1:12

This is the introductory to John’s gospel and he’s not only explaining the deity of Jesus, but our relationship we can have with him through repentant faith.  But notice its not any relationship. It’s one of sonship. We’re welcomed back as sons and daughters born of God and not as slaves. When we feel like we don’t matter to God or that perhaps we’ve done too much; we’ve gone too far, remember that He calls us sons
