Matthew 4:4 “It is written”

Matthew 4:4 says this “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

Jesus has just completed 40-days-of fasting. The devil comes to him, taking Jesus’ natural need to eat and combos it with his supernatural ability to create, using it as a one-two punch attempting to tempt Christ into failure before his ministry even gets started. Jesus, however, fights back starting with three words: “It is written”. He uses the truth of scripture as his arsenal.
