New Women’s shelter a go in Greater Sudbury

A nine-unit women’s shelter, slated to help those experiencing homelessness is a go, following a unanimous decision of Greater Sudbury city council. The shelter will be within three kilometres of downtown and will, allow for the potential diversion of women from 200 Larch Street. It will cost an estimated $40,000 to $50,000 per month, pending it operates without a security detail in place.
