One person taken to hospital following call for service

Sault Ste. Marie Fire Service crews responded to a call of a fire early this morning. It was in a vulnerable occupancy in the city’s east-end shortly after 5. Crews responded to the 300 block of Trunk Road. Upon arrival, the fire had been extinguished by staff members. Crews assisted in ventilating the building. There is some damage to the unit in the building. One individual was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
