Students aim to make a difference for those in need

Tonight some 110 students from École secondaire catholique Champlain in Chelmsford will be taking to the streets in Greater Sudbury. Called the “Homeless for a Night activity” Students and staff will mark their 11th effort to bring awareness to homelessness. It will begin this afternoon and wrap up tomorrow.

In the Place Bonaventure Mall located on Highway 144 in Chelmsford. The event will conclude on Thursday, October 10, at 8 a.m. With only cardboard boxes and tarps for shelters, the students will experience the reality of being homeless. They will also collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations. The monetary donations will be used to purchase winter clothing for the less fortunate in our community as well as items for the Sudbury Infant Food Bank and the Chelmsford Food Bank, which will also accept the food donations.
