Buses could have driver barriers in 2020

New transit buses in Sudbury will have an added focus on safety. Driver safety to be specific. City staff is recommending that new buses the city purchases be outfitted with barriers to protect drivers, based on the information gathered, a staff report going to the community services committee this week.

Council originally looked at installing barriers in 2014; however, the report indicates that most drivers were not in favour at the time, so the idea was shelved.
