McIntyre Power Miner loses fight with Parkinson’s

A retired miner whose ongoing health issues ultimate lead to the investigation of the residual effects of McIntyre Powder has died. Jim Hobbs passed this past week, from Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 76. The powder, developed by the McIntyre Mine was originally thought that coating miners’ lungs with aluminum dust would protect them from contracting silicosis.
