New fares coming for Sudbury Riders in 2018

With the new year, new rates will be in effect for Sudbury Transit Riders. Individual day passes for conventional transit will remain available in 2018, providing a day of unlimited travel for $10. Family passes provide a day of unlimited travel for up to five people for $16. Children age four and under ride transit free.
 

Thompson elected once again as board chair

This week, David Thompson who as a Trustee with the Near North District school board, was voted in once again as Chair at the Near North Board’s annual organizational meeting. He has been the chair since 2014 and as Vice Chair from 2010-2013.
 

The cold is coming…

Residents across the North are being reminded to get ready for a cold snap… coming to the North. Doug Gillham says while we’re headed for a White Christmas, with the snow, comes a drop, in temperature.

 

Slow Down – Timmins Police

Timmins Drivers are reminded to drive with care when heading out this morning. Kate Catin with Timmins Police says that the colder temperatures mean slick conditions.

 

Three car collision in Sudbury

First, there were no injuries… but as to charges, there is no word yet following a three-vehicle collision on Notre Dame Avenue yesterday near STOP Restaurant Supplies. The band up happened over the lunch hour. Traffic was slowed significantly while Police cleared the area.
 

18 confirmed cases of the Flu

Despite a number of people coming in for the flu shot this year. The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit. says the flu has hit all the same for a number of residence. So far this flu season, the health unit has confirmed 18 cases of influenza. The season peaks around Christmas and New Year’s.
