Baby… it’s cold outside!
The bitter cold continues to grip the North this morning, after a brief reprieve… temperatures are expected to plummet again today across Sudbury and North Bay. Extreme wind-chill values near or below -40 C are expected today afternoon into Friday morning.
Highway 11 shut down following fatality
Highway 11 was shut down yesterday due to a fatal collision just North of New Liskeard. Reports say a northbound tractor-trailer collided with a southbound flatbed, five-ton truck at just before lunch in Hilliard Township, just south of Earlton. The Highway at that location remains closed.
Wanted: Angel Trudel, 26
Greater Sudbury Police are looking for a woman, who they say walked into a local business on Notre Dame, looking for a fight. 26-year-old Angel Trudel apparently walked in, assaulted another customer and left. She stands 5 feet tall and weighs about 100 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Snow depth on point
Even with a fresh dump of snow, the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority says that at this point, there’s no need to worry about flooding. Sue Buckle spoke to KFM NEWS and says approximately 12 cm of snow has accumulated since the last Measurement.
The Current Average Snow Depth as of yesterday, was 31.7 Cm or 125% of normal.
Man barricades himself inside
Sault Ste. Marie OPP say that one man was taken to hospital, following an incident where he was inside a building, refusing to come out and speak with officers. Constable Monique Baker spoke to KFM and says it happened at a Kirby Street location, yesterday.
The male was taken into custody at approximately 4:00 a.m.

Parents and Guardians in the North Bay area are being given the heads up. The Health Unit says they’ve started its annual review of vaccination records. Students with incomplete vaccination records have until March the 20th, to provide up-to-date vaccination records, or face suspension.
