Close call due to “lack of coordination and planning”

It was roughly a kilometer apart, but for two airplanes, it was enough to set off alarms. The Transportation Safety Board released a report this week say thing a lack of coordination and planning by air traffic control is responsible for a near collision between two planes near Sudbury on October of 2016. The incident saw a pair of passenger airplanes pass less than a kilometer from each other, both at about 1,200 meters.
