Teen arrested for Arson

A teen has been arrested for Arson in Sault Ste. Marie. It is alleged that just before the weekend, the accused was at a multi-unit residence in the 300 block of Albert Street West. He alleged he ignited a small fire inside of a single unit, and then left. When Fire services arrived, the fire was extinguished. Only minimal damage was done.
 

Missing: Natasha Richard, 24


It’s a plea to the public for information regarding a mission woman. 24-year-old Natasha (Tasha) Richard. Greater Sudbury Police say Richard was last seen in Wikwemikong First Nation, on Manitoulin Island, in mid-January 2018. Richard is described as 5-6, 110 pounds, with medium-length light brown hair and brown eyes.
 

More child care spaces coming

More child care spaces are coming available, once again in the North thanks to a Provincial infuse. St. Francis Elementary School will see the addition of 73 new child care spaces and Mother St. Bride Elementary School will accommodate 49 new child care spaces to the tune of $3.3 million. The announcement is part of the Province of Ontario’s commitment to helping 100,000 children access quality licensed child care over the next five years.
 

Is a speed limit change coming?

Timmins Residents may soon find themselves slowing down, on a busy roadway. It all depends on a whether an issue raised at a Timmins Police Services Board meeting, will come to city council. A speed limit change on Algonquin Boulevard between Park Road and Highway 655 in order to accommodate citizens wanting to safely cross the road in that area. The current speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour.
 

2nd Degree Murder Charges coming

One man is facing second-degree murder charges, following the death of a second man. City Police were called to Morin Street at about 4:00am Saturday, where the man was found. Information led police to a residence in the 400 block of Morin Street where a second man was taken into custody. The investigation continues.
 

Weapons Complaint in Sudbury

There are few details as to what exactly took place, except to say that it was a full response for Sudbury Police following a weapons complaint. It happened just before the weekend… Police were called to a Mountain St where unknown parties were observed leaving the scene. Police are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation. It is believed to be an isolated incident.
