little is known about a collision yesterday on Highway 69… except to say that it forced the Sudbury OPP to close the Northbound lane for some time. More information is expected about the number of vehicles involved or whether there are injuries.
 

$50k coming to Summer in the Park

North Bay’s Summer in the Park is one of many festivals receiving a boost once again from the Province this year, as it’s expected to boost the local economy. $50,000 is headed toward the event. Ontario overall is investing more than $20 million in the Celebrate Ontario 2018 program to support 328 festivals and events, the highest number in the history of the program.
 

Sault Ste. Marie in the GTA talking mining

Those with the city of Sault Ste Marie are down in Toronto this week, hoping to come back with more on generating business with global mining and firms. This is all from the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada 2018. The conference is designed to help generate leads and businesses for companies from more than 24,000 mining industrial officials the GTA.
 

Youth tied to break, enter and theft

A Timmins youth has been tied to a break, enter and theft from a cottage on Horseshoe Lake, west of Iroquois Falls, Ontario. The incident happened back in November of last year. The investigation led to the recovery of the stolen shotgun this week… the youth who cannot be identified is facing a number of charges.
 

Nipissing man wanted for assault


First Police in Sudbury and in West Nipissing are keeping their eye open for a wanted man, for charges pertaining to assault with a weapon. Justin GLYNN is wanted on for an incident at parking lot of a business on Highway 17 in the town of Sturgeon Falls.

$760m going back into Copper Cliff Mine

Vale says they’re now planning on making a big investment in Greater Sudbury… while at the same looking to trim millions from its global nickel operations. $760 million dollars’ worth over the next four years to expand Copper Cliff Mine. The project, which some have called Copper Cliff Deep, will see the area between the north and south shafts mined, while at the same time giving the company future access to an ore body beneath Kelly Lake.
