Forest fire season has sparked up once again, and the Ministry of Natural resources and forestry is encouraging everyone to be fire smart. Isabelle Chenard, is a Fire Information Officer and says there are a number of alternatives to burning when it comes to yard clean up.
There are ten active forest fires in the Northeast Region including, including four in the Sudbury region. The only one not yet under control as 15 hectares roughly 6 km from Wikwemikong on the west side of Rabbit Island Rd.
