Wanted: Eric St. Michel, 24

Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of Eric St Michel. The 24-year-old is wanted by Greater Sudbury Police for three counts of break and enter, four counts of theft under $5,000, four counts of mischief under $5,000, five counts of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, and breach of recognizance. He is described as 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
 

Missing: Alexander Wesley, 14

The Timmins Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a person who has been reported to them as missing. The Timmins Police would like to determine the current whereabouts of Alexander Wesley, age 14. He is described as: an aboriginal male youth, 5’4 tall – weighing approximately 230 lbs, with a heavy build, brown eyes and short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. He has access to a black bike and wears a black bike helmet
 

New health unit has grand opening

While it’s already in operation, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit held a grand opening yesterday. The new building on Oak Street concentrates the health unit’s services under one roof, previously spread across three different facilities. The $20-million project began with the purchasing of land in 2014.
 

New cell tower shaped like a tree

Added now to the Superstack and the Big Nickle, the city of Greater Sudbury can add a large fake Pine Tree to their list of landmarks. Designed to be a cell tower in the Long Lake area, the idea has been hit with mixed reviews. Some say that it blends well into the area, while others say, due to its heart… it’s simply a distraction.
 

Gun thrown off a roof, goes off by Police

Four Sault Ste. Marie males in their 20’s are now in custody after allegedly throwing a gun off of a building. Thankfully, no one was injured when it hit the ground and went off in “close proximity” to were police were standing during the search of a residence in the 300 block of Albert Street West. Reports say upon arrival, officers contained the residence and observed four individuals exit a window and climb up to the roof. Once on the rooftop, one of the accused persons threw a firearm to the ground.
 

Fraudsters take $9,000 from resident

Another fraud alert went out from North Bay area OPP this week, after a man in East Mills Township was duped out of $9,000. Constable Shona Camairand spoke to KFM news and says it began with a phone call.

Camairand says that the unknown callers then told the man to withdraw all his money from his bank account and use it to purchase iTunes gift cards, calling him back every 10 minutes. Police remind residents never to give personal or financial information over the phone.
