A pilot is lucky to be in one piece following a crash landing. They say it happened on Gillies Lake in Coleman Township just before the weekend. The 70-year-old male pilot from Cobalt, Ontario was attempting to take off in his aircraft when the plane experienced mechanical problems. The pilot directed the plane towards the lake and landed abruptly causing damage to the plane. The pilot and the two passengers were rescued by a civilian boater and the plane was towed to the nearby docks.
