Sault Ste. Marie to come out on top of winter budget?

The city of Sault Ste. Marie could have a surplus at the end of the year. That is if financial trends stay on track for the last quarter of the fiscal year. A third-quarter financial report presented to city council Monday indicates that winter control budget is trending under budget and, if that trend continues, could result in a positive variance of about $350,000… providing winter doesn’t make an early appearance.
