School board will re-vote on consolidation

Near North District School Board trustees say they will re-vote on secondary school consolidation. In a release issued today, the board indicated it has begun implementing recommendations contained in the Ombudsman’s Final Report, which calls for the board to prepare a new final staff report on the issue.
The vote will be held on September 24th.
The former board voted to close Widdifield Secondary School and send students to Chippewa Secondary School, despite an accommodation review committee recommended that Chippewa be closed.
