North Bay fire declared “Suspicious”

A North Bay house fire is under investigation. At approximately 3 a.m., police say they were called to a residence on York Street for a fire in recycling bins in front of the complainant’s home. Police and the property owner extinguished the fire. Then roughly 30 minutes later police were contacted again about a second fire on York Street. Police attended the scene and observed a garbage can and recycling bin on fire, which then spread to the house. Police entered the home, safely removed a resident and used extinguishers from their vehicle to contain the fire until North Bay Fire and Emergency Services arrived who then extinguished it.
