Public Health Ontario has confirmed 88 new cases of COVID-19 today and two deaths. The most recent deaths include two people over 80 years old. Of the new cases confirmed today, 61 were reported by three of the province’s 34 health units.
One of those cases is in Timmins. The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting one new COVID-19 case, the first in its catchment area since early August. A staff member at Extendicare in Timmins — a female in her 50s — without symptoms tested positive. She is in isolation at home and the investigation remains ongoing.
