Second phase of playground revitalization plan set to be complete

The second phase of Greater Sudbury’s playground revitalization plan is expected to be complete, for the most part, this year. That said, future phases have been put on hold as United Way Centraide North East Ontario (UWCNEO) works through revenue losses. City council was provided with an update on their playground revitalization project during a meeting this past week.
Meanwhile,
The City of Timmins has added its first fully accessible swing. The unit, which will accommodate wheelchair users, has been installed in Lonergan Park and is expected to be operational early this week. The project was made possible through a partnership between the City of Timmins, the Timmins Centennial Public School, Newmont Porcupine and the City’s Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee.
