One new case of COVID-19 in Greater Sudbury – at Cambrian College
Cambrian College says a member of its school community has tested positive for COVID-19. The person was last on campus on Sept. 30 and does not live on campus and is currently self-isolating. The school has not said whether it is a student, staff or faculty member.
One new case of COVID-19, one new hospitalization in Sault Ste Maire
One person has tested positive for COVID-19 in the Algoma District. This brings the total number of positive cases to 35 with three active cases in the region. Algoma Public Health (APH) says the person is self-isolating at home. It’s been determined they contracted COVID-19 through close contact, international travel in northern Michigan.

The Sault Area Hospital is reporting it has admitted its first patient who is positive with COVID-19. The patient had been self-isolating at home prior to hospitalization. The hospital confirmed late yesterday the patient’s condition required admission to the hospital and they do remain open.
Student led petition calls for more food options at LU
A new student led petition is calling on Laurentian University to expand food location options available to students on campus. The petition points to a scaling back as the pandemic continues, while still requiring full payment.
Bones found, not human remains – North Bay Police
North Bay police investigating the discovery of bones found underneath the Trout Lake Road overpass between Giroux Street and Mountainview Drive Monday afternoon have confirmed they are not human in nature. The bones were discovered by a passerby who was out for walk.
Kate Pace Way closed for resurfacing, again
Two sections of the Kate Pace Way will be closed for the next seven to 10 days while resurfacing is underway. This includes the section between Lakeshore Drive and Decaire Road and the stretch between Prince Edward Drive and Marshall Avenue. A detour has been established. The City of North Bay thanks residents for their patience and co-operation while this work is completed.
TSC asking for feedback on final stage of proposal
Timmins Snowmobile Club is asking for feedback on a program to bring to city council. The program would allow snow mobiles to use city streets for trail access. It would mean riders who meet the requirements would be allowed access to certain streets going forward.
