Potential exposure linked to an ONTC trip

The Algoma Public Health is advising residents of a potential COVID-19 exposure. It has to do with an Ontario Northland bus. Anyone who travelled on Oct. 26 on the 11am bus from Toronto to Sudbury, from Sudbury to Spragge at 5:30pm or the Shuttle from Spragge to Elliot Lake should monitor for symptoms.
 

US pair bused for not following isolation rules

A Pennsylvania pair have been charged for violating a two-week quarantine. This is following their arrival in Chisholm Township, east of Powassan this week from the US.
With the assistance of the Public Health Agency of Canada and Canada Border Services Agency, a 47-year-old and 48-year-old the pair were issued a provincial offence notice, with a set fine of $1,000, plus costs and surcharges.
 

59-year-male arrested for break and enter

A North Bay man has been charged following a break in at an automotive business. It happened on Lakeshore Drive. North Bay police said an employee discovered Tuesday morning the business had been entered overnight and a small amount of money and computer equipment were taken. The 32-year-old suspect identified by video surveillance is facing a number of charges.

Greater Sudbury Police are looking for a 59-year-old whom they allege stole a vehicle from a Sudbury car dealership. It began when the man entered a local car dealership on The Kingsway, looking to test drive a vehicle. It was later discovered that the individual returned another vehicle that was virtually the same vehicle. He is described at standing 5-9, weighing around 175 lbs. with red hair and blue eyes.
 

Timmins city council facing a $4.5 deficit… that could go up

Timmins city council says they’re looking at 4.5million in lost revenue all due to COVID-19. That is down from projected revenues for the year. Council is continuing to talk financial options as its anticipated that figure will continue to grow significantly through the final two months of the year.
 

Chisholm Township steps down

After nearly 15 total years in office, the Mayor of Chisholm Township is stepping down. Leo Jobin was first appointed mayor of the township in 2002, serving until 2006. After a break from politics, Jobin returned in 2009, being appointed mayor again in 2010. He is now resigning to focus on his health. His seat will be declared vacant November 10th
 

Timmins Police recovered ATV, looking for owner of found items

Timmins police recently recovered a stolen ATV and now say there’s two helmets and a pair of gloves belonging to those who may have taken it. The first helmet is described as black in color with stars, flowers and a white lightning bolt on it with silver paint near the mouth area. The second helmet is described as white, black and red with a visor.  The gloves are Motorist and large. They are black and bright green in color.
