9-new-cases of COVID-19 announced by Sudbury Health Unit

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is reporting nine new cases of COVID-19 for the catchment area. Through contact tracing, Public Health will notify all close contacts directly. This is the 15th case announced by the health unit since Tuesday.
 

2nd-case of COVID-19 announced in the Nipissing District

A second case this week of COVID-19 confirmed in Nipissing District. The local public health unit is reporting a second case of COVID-19 in Nipissing District. The individual is between 40 and 59 years of age and was exposed to the virus by community transmission.
 

Sault Ste Marie Police looking for a missing Teen

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is requesting the help of the public to locate missing 16-year-old Kaitana Biron. Biron was last seen yesterday in the 100 block of Queensgate Blvd. Known to frequent the downtown area, Biron is described as 5’3″ tall with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes.
 

New Trustee with District School Board Ontario North East

Erica Logan was sworn in as a Trustee for District School Board Ontario North East this week. It happened at the meeting of the board. Director Lesleigh Dye administered the Declaration of Office and Oath of Allegiance and Trustee Logan will undergo a formal orientation to the board and her duties as trustee in the coming weeks.
 

25-year-old busted for theft of a generator

A 25-year-old Sault Ste Marie man has been arrested after allegedly taking a generator from a business in the 600 block of John Street. It happened early Wednesday. A male suspect was found in the area. He had bolt cutters, a box cutter and two flashlights in his possession, police say.
 

Movember rolls forward for Sault Ste Marie Firefighters

A Movember campaign to raise cash to fight prostate and testicular cancer is now being driven forward by Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services trucks. They will all bear the Movember logo this month. Many firefighters are also growing moustaches support the fundraiser.
