One new case of COVID-19, warnings of a potential exposure
Among case counts of COVID-19 yesterday into today, Algoma Public Health has confirmed one new case of COVID-19 in the region. The exposure has been cited as international travel as the exposure category. The individual is self isolating.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is advising the public of a potential high-risk exposure to COVID-19. It pertains to a business in the New Sudbury Centre on Nov. 28 and 29. The health unit is working with what information they have to complete contact tracing.
Missing man: 27-year-old Stephane Levesque
Greater Sudbury Police officers are seeking public’s assistance in locating Stephane Levesque. Levesque, 27, was last seen at the the Northern Hillside Inn yesterday afternoon in Levack. He is described as 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, and wearing dark jacket and jeans.
One person sent to hospital following MVC in North Bay
A collision at the intersection of Wyld and Main streets in downtown North Bay has sent one person to the hospital. It happened yesterday afternoon. Emergency crews say a pedestrian “appeared to have the right of way” as they were hit by a car turning off of Wyld to head eastbound on Main street., but do add her injuries “minor to medium”. The police investigation is ongoing.
North Bay looking at reducing “garbage receptacles”, increasing bag-tag price
North Bay council is eyeing a plan to eventually reduce the number of free garbage receptacles in 2021, when it comes to curbside garbage drop off. This week council voted in favour of exploring a proposed service level change that would see the number of free receptacles for residential users drop to two from three. The city also will consider raising the charge for bag tags to $2.
OPP take two into custody, following break and enter in progress
Temiskaming OPP have taken a two into custody, following a break on Whitewood Avenue West in the City of Temiskaming Shores. Upon police arrival, officers located two individuals inside the residence. A 26-year-old from Cobalt, and a 50-year-old resident of Temiskaming Shores. They were held for a bail hearing.
Science North Looking to expand into the new year
Science North is looking to expand into the New Year. At next week’s meeting of the finance committee, councillors will look at whether to seek a business case from staff regarding financial support for the centre. The goal would be to see ½ million dollars for its Go Deeper project, Dynamic Earth attractions. If they approve the business case, it would become part of the 2021 budget deliberations.
