Health Sciences North in Greater Sudbury has confirmed its first ever COVID-19 case involving a staff member. Immediate steps were taken for the staff member to self-isolate as per public health guidelines. HSN’s Occupational Health and Safety team worked closely with Public Health on contact tracing.
Among the COVID-19 case count today, 13 cases were announced by public health, Sudbury and Districts, while 2 were announced by the Nippising Parry Sound District Health Unit.
Meanwhile the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit has declared a facility-wide outbreak of COVID-19 at Eastholme Home for the Aged in Powassan. The individual who tested positive is a staff member and is self isolating.
