Northeastern Ontario has now surpassed 1,000 positive COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started March 11th of last year. On Tuesday, 18 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in northeastern Ontario, bringing the total number of positive cases to 1,005.
Of today’s numbers… A second individual living in Laurentian University’s residence has tested positive for COVID-19, and is currently in quarantine. The first COVID-19 case in Laurentian’s residence was reported last week. The second case in residence is not linked to the first.
Meanwhile, the Porcupine Health Unit is reporting two new COVID-19 cases. Both are related to the outbreak at Extendicare in Kapuskasing.
Elsewhere, the North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit is reporting one new case in the Parry Sound District. This individual is hospitalized.
