1,837 cases of COVID-19 in Ontario today
Public Health Ontario has reported another drop in COVID-19 cases today. 1,837 new cases of COVID-19 today. That’s a drop from over 2,000 yesterday.
Among the case counts of COVID-19 today…
Public Health Sudbury and districts are announcing 10 new cases… all of which are in Greater Sudbury. Meanwhile 2 new cases were announced today by the North Bay Parry Sound district.
About Vaccines…
Residents in retirement and nursing homes in Kapuskasing, Moonbeam and Matheson received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine this week. In-house clinics are being led by the Porcupine Health Unit which received its first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine earlier this week.
New Charges….
North Bay Police say they have laid 3-more charges in week two of the Provincial Lockdown. The three charges stem from three separate investigations involving social gatherings in residences. In each case, an adult person was issued a ticket for $880.
New Testing…
Sault College now has plans to start an enhanced COVID-19 screening pilot project by mid-February. Only students who cannot be instructed online are currently going to classes at the post-secondary institution. The Sault College looks to recruit volunteers for an eight-week pilot that would see 40 Pan-bio COVID-19 Antigen tests done every seven days.
