Ontario health officials are reporting fewer than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 for another straight day. 904 new cases today, down from 964 yesterday.

Public Health Sudbury and Districts reported 6 new cases of COVID-19. All from Greater Sudbury, 4 of them are a result of a close contact. Elsewhere 2 cases of COVID-19 today were reported in Nipissing.

One new case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at a elementary school in Greater Sudbury. It was reported at Cyril Varney Public School. The student who tested positive is self-isolating and is being monitored by Public Health Sudbury & Districts. The Grade 4/5 class has been asked to self-isolate up to and including Feb. 25. A letter dated Feb. 15 posted on the Rainbow District School Board’s website said the school remains open for in-person learning.
In work places…
Two North Bay Walmart employees have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, associates identified as being in close prolonged contact have been directed to self-isolate. The associates last worked Feb. 5.
