École Alliance St-Joseph in Chelmsford has been closed until March 12 due to a confirmed case of COVID-19. The daycare has also been afflicted at École Alliance St-Joseph will also be closed until Friday, March 12.

Missing woman: 27-year-old Taylor Lebrun

Timmins Police is looking for a missing woman. 27-year old Taylor Lebrun.
She is described as an Indigenous female person with a thin build, 5’ tall, 130 pounds, medium length, brown hair – brown eyes. She was last seen on Friday, Feb. 26 at the 101 Mall.
 

Three-more cases of COVID-19 in Elliot Lake Area

Three more Elliot Lake and area residents have tested positive for COVID-19. Algoma Public Health made the announcement Sunday. One is said to have caught the virus from close contact. All are self-isolating.
 

Lafrance Furs is closing after more than 100-years

After more than a century, One of Northern Ontario’s longest standing businesses closing its doors. Lafrance Furs has been in business for 113 years. Lafrance Furs moved to Sudbury from Chapleau in 1921 and opened a store on Durham Street North. It will officially close its business on March 28th.
 

Powassan residents asked to hold their glass recyclables

Powassan residents are being asked to hold on to their glass recyclables. This is as the city is ordering a new bin for the landfill specifically for used glass. Once it arrives, residents will be asked to bring it in, or have it picked up.
