Ontario is reporting fewer than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases for the first time in a week. The 966 new infections represent a decrease from Monday’s report when over 1,000 cases were logged.
Among new cases of COVID-19, cases have reported at three more Greater Sudbury schools. Chelmsford Valley District Composite School, Lockerby Composite School and Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School all have cases and all remain open for in-person learning at this time.
Meanwhile, the Sudbury health unit reported one new COVID-19-related death today, as well as 12 new cases of COVID-19 in the area. Meanwhile are reporting two individuals have tested positive for COVID-19. One is in the Nipissing district and one is in the Parry Sound district.
Voluntary asymptomatic testing for COVID-19 will soon be offered in Greater Sudbury at for school communities. In-person learners, their households and staff in schools will all have the option. A joint press release distributed to parents this week went out from the four local school boards. School boards will share the dates, times and locations of COVID-19 clinics with their school communities.
