Timmins
Among the latest cases of COVID-19 in Timmins, one new case has been detected at Friends Forever Childcare Centre on Pine St. N. The centre is closed while it undergoes a deep clean. The centre is now working through the Porcupine Health Unit protocols, taking it one day at a time.
Meanwhile, Nine new COVID-19 cases and eight recoveries are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit today. Six of the new cases are in the Timmins area and three people are in the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls.
North Bay
The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit continued to produce the lowest case rate in the entire province over the last reported seven-day period from April 17 to 23. The rate stands at 9.2 cases per 100,000 population. The Health Unit area also has the lowest cumulative case rate over the course of the entire pandemic.
Greater Sudbury
Public Health Sudbury and Districts is warning of a potential exposure to COVID-19. It’s for GOVA passengers who took Bus Route 105, last Friday or Sunday. Affected dates and times for Bus 783, from Val Caron to the Downtown Transit Hub, are April 23 between 3:50 p.m. and 4:40 p.m., and for Bus 815, from the Downtown Transit Hub to Val Caron, are April 25 between 5 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. Those on the bus should monitor for symptoms.
